Fairway Supermarket Allows Shoppers To Skip Lines
Fairway Market launched Monday a system for shoppers to avoid checkout lines by scanning purchases into mobile phones — weighing produce and other items on digital scales positioned in aisles — and charge purchases to payment accounts.
Fairway, which has a store in Stamford’s South End, becomes the first supermarket in the Tri-state region to offer a mobile, self-scanning checkout option, according to FutureProof Retail which designed the Fairway system.
